I have tried, repeatedly to change the opening page (Home Page) on Windows Explorer from http://www.msn.com/ to a opening Home page of my choice. However the page continuously returns to the MSN default address.

I am sure that there is something relativly simple that should be done however it has eluded me for weeks.

This annoying problem is in my Dell Latitude D-500 Laptop. I would appreciate an assist.

I just had to tkae a look see here as it has been awhile since I messed with this.

    While IE is open
Click on tools at the top.
    Select Internet Options.
Under the Generals Tab is what you need.

I find it best to go to the site you wish to use and then select "Use Current. "

    Hello Winfan,

Are you using Spybot? If so, did you set the option not to allow the current user to change the home page?

    Regards - Charles

    Hi Winfan,

First, the Mode, upper left corner, should be set to advanced.

Then underneath, in the left Panel > Tools > IE Tweaks.

There you'll see Miscellaneous Locks, unchecking the IE locks, if checked, should do the trick.

I'm on my way to go out of town, so any further questions should be posted here.

    Regards - Charles

For everyone's FYI, Winfan sent me a PM on how to check Spybot's settings.
