Hi everyone, I very recently formatted & reinstalled everything. It's all back to normal but a windows messenger pops up in sys tray when ever I open outlook express. I have done the do not connect from messenger options, unchecked it from outlook express. I can't see an option in my outlook (2000) to remove it. I've read there are registry tweeks to poss fix this but I'm leary of using regedit.

    Hope I used correct forum

If you want to remove Messenger entirely (uninstall it) go to Start>Run, type (or copy and paste from here):
    RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

    Click OK.

Otherwise, it will require a registry edit. Click Here to open the Microsoft Knowledge Base article with instructions.
