I have a windows 2000 server that is failing to boot with the message "File is missing or corrupt: C:\Winnt\system32\config\SYSTEMced "

I have found the MS article that gives a solution (here) but I do not get the prompt to select a Windows installation and enter a password, it just goes straight into a command prompt. I have tried to move files over, but just get an access denied message.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks

    Grunty,

Did you hit f12 during startup to select boot to CDRom? It sounds like you aren't booting to the CD. If you are booting to the CD you should get the recovery console option during setup. You might want to try another CD as well.
