Changing 2000 DC whant to change domain name also

    I have a lab set up at home. I want to replace my domain controller and change the domain name at the same time. Can some one help?

    You can't rename a Windows 2000 Domain. You can however with Windows 2003 Server. I would build a 2nd DC using Windows 2003 server, demote the windows 2000 server, then rename the domain. Microsoft has instructions for a domain rename on their site.

    Hi there,
    I think the easiest way for you will be to "dcpromo" the domain controller, once that is done you can then change the domain name as you want to.
