jammer--Thanks for telling us the successful result.
I am still bothered that your PrintScreen does not work. I found this
    in this reference
    http://www.howtofixcomputers.com/bb/sutra767101.html
    which also has other suggestions.
If that does not help, have you tried PrintScreen and then opened your Clipboard to see if the image is copied there? That would help narrow the step where the problem is occurring.
P.S. When I used Print Screen, pasted to Irfanview, saved as a .jpg and printed from there, I do not know the dpi resolution, but the print was very sharp.

    jammer--Or Start|All Programs|Accessories|Clipboard.
Did you try the F Lock suggestion? The F Lock key is usually right above the Backspace key.

jammer--Forgive one more post. But I bet you saw the BBS Respose window when you opened Clipboard because that was the open screen on your monitor when you clicked Print Screen. :)

But jammer has not told us if he can now paste what is in Clipboard into a graphics editor (like MS Paint or Irfanview) and print from there.
See my posts #15 and #18 above.
