    Hi
I use MSN Premium and I just received a e-mail with some upgrades.
One that they are offering is "Webroot Spy Sweeper ". but I will need to download the program.
What is your opinions on this program....Good, Bad, OK??
As you can see in my Signature I have a number of spyware programs already.
Should I download this or is it over kill??
    Geri

Also, I just found this in my messages on here....
I don't have "searchfast" in add/remove, I did have a problem with them a few months ago but was able to block them.
So what's with the message from them ??

Seems that someone from "Searchfast" registered on the forums, and is sending Private Messages to people who have (had) trouble with Searchfast.

Obviously I do not tolerate this. If you have something to say, you do that in the open forum.

I have banned their user account.

    Hi Gerri,

WebRoot's app is one of the very good ones, right up there and probably better than what you're running now.

Overkill is a subjective concept, if you're having constant problems, then you are in need of something better.

What would be overkill is to run multiple apps that overlap resident. I personally have multiple anti-malware apps, but I use them as scanners only, none running resident with the exception of the AV.

AV's nowadays have a wider scope, they also look for malware beyond just those labeled as viruii.

BTW, I recieved a PM exactly like yours and I never posted here or anywhere else about my having malware problems.

    Regards - Charles

    Hi Charles
Thanks, I haven't had any problems sense I installed what I have now.
The only one that I have that is a resident is WD. I'm guessing??

Do you see a problem with WD and Spy Sweeper running together?

AdAware and SpyBot I use as scanners only.
    Thanks again
    Geri

    Hi Gerri,

If you're not having any problems with your present setup, then I would just leave as is. If you're thinking of purchasing SpySweeper, from what I've read about it, it wouldn't be a waste of money, but my inclination is to try freeware first :)

There is always a potential problem with software that overlap conflicting in some fashion when running together, but that's not certain. I personally don't have experience with running WD or Spysweeper.

    Regards - Charles
