Can anybody put me in the right direction, I have to setup my Father-in-laws new laptop with his new broadband connection. He will be using it mainly as a WIFI connection to his BT Voyager 2091 Wireless modem/router.

So do I complete the initial setup and configurations connected to the router via the RJ45 Ethernet patch cable, then disconnect, and then use the WIFI connection. Or can I do the complete setup just via the WIFI without the RJ45 Ethernet patch cable connected.

Hope this makes sense, any help would be appreciated

You can do it using the wi-fi connection. You can even set up the security keys that way. But you will get temporarily disconnected until u enter them into the laptop. If u ever forget the keys u will need the ethernet cable though to retrieve them.

    Hope this helps
