Lexmark 125 printer will not print

    A friend has a Lexmark X125 printer connected by USB to a Dell running Windows XP Home. It goes thru all the motions of printing or coping but the sheets are blank. They installed new cart. to no avail. I looked at it and removed the cart. and reinserted but did not help. I cleaned the heads with alcohol,I shut it down for 5 min. but did not help. I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled but still blank pages,no error messaage. Any suggestions on what to try?

    Check that the Print Spool Service is set to automatic and is running.

    Right click My Computer > Manage > Services and Applications > Services.

    Spooling was turned on and set to automatic. I guess I will tell them a new printer is in order. I do not think they need an all in one just a printer to use occasionally.
    As a second thought also would the type of user have anything to do with it in XP home? I am not familiar with XP that much.

    If you have the time/inclination try the printer on another computer to establish if the problem lies with the printer or the computer.

    I may try to install it on my laptop at ther home and try that. I run Win 98SE.
