    Hi

How Microsoft hasnt come up with anything related to OE in Windows Live ? It has online favourites but nothing for OE ? - Like online rules, spam filters, account settings etc - this way we wouldnt need to backup OE settings all the time.

anjanesh--It is not entirely clear what it is that you are looking for. Windows Live is a suite of applications, mostly involved with security (antivirus, firewall, antispyware, etc.) but also a backup program and a few other bells and whistles.

If OE has a security problem, presumably a Windows Live scan will find it and fix it or report it.
And Windows Update will continue to offer Updates for IE/OE as applicable.
P.S. If you have a reference that OE is not covered as part of Windows Live, please let us know.

Ok....I was thinking in something like this... -

The new IE - IE7 allows you to store favourites online - this way you dont need to have the favourites stored on your PC - so I wouldnt need to backup my favourites because its online - this is in ideas.live.com.

Would the OE 7 (or whatever is the latest) come with features to store rules, message filters, spam block list online - say in ideas.live.com ?

    Thanks

anjanesh-- "OE7" will be part of Windows Vista due in early 2007 and will be called "Windows Mail ". I cannot tell you what features it will have when it is released.
But I see from the http://ideas.live.com/ site that there is a "Windows Live Mail beta" application offered. I do not use it, so have no knowledge what it does other than what is described in the links.
Also I think if you save your OE files per the following reference, you will save all your settings. You can save to external drive, if you wish--about as good as storing offline.
