My internet connection is Cable Internet, and i notice that when i leave my pc idle for some time, when i return back i notice that most of the times i've lost my internet connection, and i need to restart my pc in order to get my connection back. My pc is virus/spyware free. Do you think that this problem is from my pc or do you think that it is an ISP issue ?

    Thanks

You need to to go into your router and set th time the dhcp lease to expire. Use more time usually 7days. Or you can go into dos when your connection fail and use the command:

    ipconfig/renew

The default address for a router is usually 192.168.1.254.

Open your Internet Explorer and enter 192.168.1.254 in the address bar. If that does not work look in your manuel for the modem's default address.

If you can get into the modem that way, look around usually under LAN settings and DHCP settings. move it to the maximum usually it is 7 days.

If you haven't got the manual, you should be ablet to get it from the manufacturer's website; something I do a lot.

Try this. In device manager, double click on your network adapater. Click the power management tab and make sure the line that says "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is not checked.

thx for your reply. I've just contacted my ISP, and they've told that most probably the problem is coming from the USB timings. Eventually, they've recommended me that i do either connect my modem to an NIC Card, or else i change my USB timings.

Please can someone tell me exactly what are these USB timings and from where i can adjust them. Moreover please what these timings should read ?

    Thank you

Your best bet is to connect to an NIC card. Alot simpler than fooling around with USB timings.
