Win XP is on an ntfs 20G disc. 30G FAT32 formatted disc is free. Need to install Win98SE on that disc and leave WinXP as primary. Reason for this is SideWinder Force Feedback Pro is not accepted by WinXP. The FAT32 partition is approx. 7.5G and will be used for games only. Would like a dual boot system to default to WinXP. I have the Win98SE CD that came with the computer when I bought it. I get conflicting info on the internet. I'll do whatever you say.

    Whiskeyman,

Thank you. Right now you're a step or two over my head. I'm itermediate, but compared to whomECan you get a little more basic? My apologies.

I had Win98SE on my computer. I decided that it was time to get used to WinXP so I removed my 98SE hard drive and put in a spare 20GB hard drive then installed WinXP on it. I wanted to switch between the two drives without having the boot.ini reflect a dual boot system. I also didn't want to have to boot into the bios and switch which drive to boot to. surferdude2 came up with a solution that I could place a boot floppy in the floppy drive on startup so I could boot to XP. If I left the floppy out the PC would boot to 98SE. To create the floppy boot disk and have an easy way to boot between the OSes follow his directions below.
