    Problem No.2!
My logitech optical mouse goes crazy every so often. The cursor starts moving by itself usually to the top or bottom left of the screen. It is connected to my PS/2 port.
I downloaded logitech drivers but this didnt solve the problem. Any ideas??

A couple of 'standard' suggstions ....

Uninstall all mice listed in Device Manager (Right click on entry > Remove/Uninstall) and reboot.

Try another mouse - preferably of another make. That would eliminate your specific mouse as the source of the problem.

    raveon,

Make sure there aren't any foreign objects (cat hair, lint, etc) blocking the LED on the bottom of the mouse. If you're still having problems... as strange as it sounds, update your video card drivers. This will sometimes correct erratic mouse behaviour.

I agree with Mr.B. The next time the cursor acts up, turn the mouse over and blow on the eye. It doesn't take a very large object to make them act up like this. A small spec of lint or a tiny hair can make them go absolutely nuts.

Clean the surface on which you are using mouse and/or get a mouse pad.

Yes. Go to a more dependable wired device.

I had one of those cordless devices years ago. I also had the same problem with the pointer moving.

Can you just imagine trying to Play Links Golf and have the pointer take off on you ?

I took a few days and tried to pay attention to what was happening at the time the pointer moved. And Believe-it-or-not by Ripley, one thing was when some one walked across the floor next to the desk. Yes. It was on a pad.

The next item in line was when I would just lay a book on or move something on the desk.

After trying all of the suggestions that have been given here ( plus a lot of bad language ) I gave up and went to wired. I now have 3 PCs and 4 mice This XP Pro machine has 2. One Logitech and one MS. But no problems.
