    Fujitsu S Series Lifebook.

Screen may start, but soon goes white. If I squeeze bezel edge, it might come back, but usually stays white, maybe jumping in and out or half data showing but only for few seconds.

It seems like a short or something similar, not a software/driver type problem.

So, what do I do disassemble the frame/bezel (dreaded) and fiddle with the connections?

I really have no clue about LCD functions, etc. I thought maybe I should just get a new screen - I found one - but it is the whole thing, so I guess I will have to remove the base frame to attach the hinges and connectors? Any advice?

    Thanks!

    Video cable connection, maybe?

The fact that some movement of the display causes the screen to "˜work’ suggests an intermittent contact somewhere and most likely in the display unit "“ but not necessarily.

Maybe a loose or defective Video connector.

Have a look on the following site. It covers most problems on Laptop LCD displays and how to fix them. Your machine is not covered but you should get a very good idea of how to tackle any disassembly/panel replacement.

Thanks, Bill - I am tardy in responding, but

am back from our team winning NCAA Div II Natiojnal Championsips (Winona State Warriors) and will follow your advice. Would be great if only loose connection. Will also have to obtain some of those wee tools to use.

Thanks, will be back later to keep you and others on what transpires. (I am not big hardware person, but can get through it pretty good, sometimes.)
