    check out http://nettime.sourceforge.net/

    I have this running in a mixed environment. for pre-win2k machines, we use net time. for win2k+ we use w32time. any computer can act as the time server with all internal pc's pointing to this server for synch. The internal time server would then point to the i-net for synch.

    If you are using an NT4 box as your local time server (and connecting it to an authoritative time server) which is what we are also doing, you may need to get on the 2K boxes and specify to them the protocol and server to use. Should be a one-time thing and then w32time should update with no problems.

    net time /setsntp:servername where "servername" is the local time server you are using. For instance, we are using the PDC on our local resource domain for the job. It is named CABPDC and I have run the command

    net time /setsntp:cabpdc

    Thanks for help.
    I try w32time service only on 3 nt4 servers.I made one master,primary and secondary.I didn't try on w2k server.When I run net time command:
    coudn't locate a time-server.
    May be I set wrong w32time.ini file?

    Beg to differ.

    I have a NT4 sp6 PDC on a resource domain at a site set up as follows: TimeServ service disabled, w32time service enabled, is getting a time synch from an authoritative time server elsewhere (another domain in another city), and acting as the w32time synch server for it's domain. The 2K & XP boxes have all been directed to it using net time /setsntp:servername

    But if all else fails, you can put a batch file on the NT servers that does net time \\mytimeserver /set and put it in scheduler to run with whatever frequency pleases you.

    To use net time \\server /set I don't need to use w32time service in nt4 servers,just use scheduler.But what about w2k servers,I run net time /setsntp:server and time dosn't synch.The w2k can synch with nt4?

    You probably haven't setup W32Time as a local NTP server.

    w32time.ini example:

    [W32Time]
    Type=NTP
    Period=0
    NTPServer=tock.usno.navy.mil
    Log=yes
    TAsync=no
    LocalNTP=yes

    Stop and start the time service on the client to test.
