Not sure if this is hardware or software problem. I'm using XP Home Edition and have a Acer Open 19" LCD Monitor. Every so often, after being on about 15 minutes the screen begins to flicker making emails etc. hard to read, then it clears up for a while then starts again. Very annoying, anyone any ideas...I've tried Auto Config on my Monitor but that doesn't do a thing.

    Much appreciated

    Reknaw,
I have a similar problem with an HP Pavilion 150 LCD monitor. Not so much a flickering in my case, more like horizintal "waves" flowing down the screen.

I can always correct the issue by slightly wiggling the video connector in the back of the monitor. A few days later the problem returns. The connector is attached tight with thumb bolts, so I suspect there is a lose connection or broken solder joint somewhere inside the monotir.

In my experience, over tightening of screws also results in random problems which are very hard to pinpoint. If your connectors are very tightly *******, unscrew the connector, pull it out & then ***** it again but just keep the screws a little loose.
