I'm in the situation of having to wipe my hard drive and re-build. I want to save my emails to floppies before I do that, but I can't locate the mail files. The Netscape manual seems to give no clues.

    I have Windows 98SE with Netscape 7.2

Does anyone have any idea where the mail files might be?

This is probably not a new problem but I couldn't fine any answers herein and I'm the new guy on the block.......

    Welcome to the Forum, Dusty!

    Dusty,

You will find your Mail Files here:

    C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profile_name\*.slt\Mail\pop.isp_name.net

    Mail Folder Locations

Is your only means of Storage a Floppy Drive, or do you have a CD-RW drive?

Ramona, Thanks for your help. I'll go look there. The computer has a CD/RW drive but the writing software is not recognizing the drive .... that is my next problem to troubleshoot. It is recognized by windows for software loading.

Thanks again .... I just discovered this site via Google. :) What a find!!!!

    Dusty,
which writing software are you trying to use. There is all kind of writing software, and, mostly for burnings audio CDs. You have to look at the properties of the software, and this if it can burn data files.
Anyway a floppy will not hold much.

The CD writer software is the NTI CD-Maker 2000 plus. It will write audio but I primarily use it for data backups. I just need to make sure that the drivers are there and not hosed. Do you have a favorite writer package? Thanks for the help.

I recommend that you look for the most recent driver. your software is pretty old, so it should work.
As for my software, guess what? I found out that the one which I had been using to burn data CDs does not work, so, I will have to either uninstall it, or uninstall it, and replace it with the older version, which had worked, in the past..
