I have several Road Runner POP e-mail accounts that I accessed through an older Netscape Mail Messenger version. Now I have loaded the new Netscape 8.1 and their web mail doesn't seem to operate the same way.

It appears that I have to sign up for their free mail which will have my email address called xxx@netscape.net. I really don't want to change my current mail ID's.

Am I reading something wrong and Netscape can still handle my mail the way I want it or do I have to go elsewhere to get mail handling software that allows me to keep my current ID's? If so, any recommendations?

    bills4700,

Netscape 8.1 has no Mail Client. You can access your POP3 accounts from Netscape 8.1 from other applications, however. The Netscape free Web Mail is not a requirement by any means. I never use it as it is quite problematic...

Thunderbird 1.5 would be my suggestion for a Mail Client. You will be able to use your Road Runner mail address as with the older Netscape Messenger. It can be downloaded here: http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/
