DVD/CD Reader Drive

The reader drive on my Compaq computer makes a lot of noise and vibration when it runs, much more than the CD writer.
I was thinking of changing it to something a little smoother. Any recommendations for a new drive? Is it difficult to swap drives and keep the drive letter fixed?

I bought a NEC model from NewEgg a year ago, you can go thru the list for color:

It is quiet and in more than a year of use, never gave me any trouble.

Is it difficult to swap drives and keep the drive letter fixed?
On install, provided that all the devices now plugged in are present, the new drive will assume the original drive letter.

It is fairly easy to change drive letters though thru Disk Management.
