    This morning, I tried to delete my cookies. All the cookies but 1 were deleted.
    I have tried several times to delete this cookie. It will not delete. How can I get rid of it? How do they put cookies on the computer, that you can't delete? Any help on this greatly appreciated.

    Are you sure it's a cookie or is it the index.dat file. If the file is named index, then it's not a cookie and you can't delete it because it's always in use by windows. There's applications available that will delete the file or you can delete it by logging on to another account and delete it from there. Each user account has it's own cookie folder (and index.dat within it). Yours won't be in use when logged onto another account though.

    If you only have one user account, you can boot to safemode and log on to XP's built in administrator account there and delete the file from there.

    Here is the info on the Cookie???
    Name= meLEAK (small box right after the name)
    Internet Address= http://cdbaby.com/gif/meLEAK (small box)
    Type= File
    Size= 3KB
    Expires= None
    I am sure it isn't a Virus or Parisite. I ran a virus check, and a parisite check.
    I was just wanting to know what it is, and why I couldn't delete it.

    Coyote--Where is that "cookie" residing? The C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Cookies folder? Temporary Internet Files?
    Cookies are .txt files named UserName@xxxsite.txt.
    Can you delete from SafeMode or by using MoveOnBoot?

    P.S. The proper way to delete "normal" cookies is from Temporary Internet Files--not from C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Cookies.
