I think the problem is that "i try to update my windows 2000 pro and it would not do nothing" doesn't give any idea whatever of exactly what/how you tried to "update" or what happened when you tried.

If you would post details of what you tried and exactly what happened including any error messages (the exact and entire message) you can probably get some help.

    OK. Got it now.

You mean the stuff from Microsoft's update site or any updates from anywhere?

No updates ever or is this a recent problem?

What service pack are you running?

Look in your event logs and see if you find any nasty looking stuff there - especially at around the time you had update failures. If so, post the details of a few.

From the examples you list, it appears that performance couhter issues are your primary concern.

These failures are usually the result of a missing, not-set-up, or malformed dll for the apps.

There is a nice tool you can use to get information about specific dll settings (including performance counters) on your machine. Free download of EXCTRLST.EXE and a good explanation of how to use it and what it will tell you is Here.

If this isn't the problem, let us know more about exactly what is. Not trying to bust your chops here but I am having a really hard time trying to figure out what you want to do that you can't (or what problem you are trying to solve).
