    Hello,
I'll describe the details of the issue fully here. Please let me know if you've seen this. Thank you very much!

    OS-WinXP
    App-Netscape 7.2 Mail
    Email account at Earthlink
    Domain Forwarding at Register.com

Forwarding account setup through personal Domain through register.com
So, email sent to @domainname.com gets directed to @earthlink.net and is received in Netscape mail.

Netscape mail is setup to to BCC: @domainname.com address.

    Issue:
Sending mail in Netscape mail 7.2 in the T0: field directly to myselt at the @domainname does not go through. No error messages, shows up in the sent folder. Sending mail works to everyone else. Able to receive outside emails.
    Only issue at this point-
Bcc: to myself at @domainname.com does not go through.
To: Field- sending mail to myself at @domainname.com does not go through.

If I change the BCC: to @earthlink.net account it goes through
This was working and suddenly stopped. Works for a week then off for a week.

    What I have done-
    Disabled all pop-up blockers
Disabled all firewalls including Windows Firewall
Confirmed there are no Spam blockers on Web Mail and local program.
Checked with Earthlink.net support and Register.com support. They see no issue.

Reinstalled Netscape 7.2 on a new machine. Still having same issue.

    Welcome to the Forum, sxp0!

    sxp0,

I found this Googling, and it was actually intended for Netscape 6. However you might try it to see if it works for Netscape 7:

In the User Name section of the Mail Account setup, enter your full email address (yourname@yourdomain.com) and click “Next.”

If it doesn't work change your account name like this: yourname%yourdomain.com

    Ramona,
Thank you for the response. I think the email address field cannot be anything other than the primary email address field now. Before I switched Domain providers I was able to enter the @domainname in that field. Now it only BCC's with the @earthlink address in that field. The person wants the From field to show as his @domainname address when sending messages. Outlook has no issues with this. So what do you do....you know... I'm thinking the issue could be on the forwarding side of the Domain provider or a Netscape issue. Thank you for the input. Talk to you later! sxp0

Just a lark. I don't like to forward, because I, often want to clean up some messages, so i select Reply, and I enter whatever e-mail address I want.
I don't quite understand what the register.com is like, but I thought that it may work. I don't use NS7.2 any more, but I doubt that anything much has changed with Thunderbird, or Seamonkey.

What is shown as the SMTP (outgoing server) ? Is the @domainname the default SMTP server, or Earthlink?

    Ramona,
    The outgoing server is smtpauth.earthlink.net
    The incoming is pop.earthlink.net.
    User ID is name@earthlink.net
    password- earthlink password
I changed the Account Name field to @domain.com
So the area under account settings were like-
Account Name- Put his name there and tried @earthlink and tried @ domain name. Still same issue.
Under Your name I tried all 3 again with same issue
Now here's the stupid field that has an issue I think.
The Email Address Field- @domainname fails. if I change the field to @earthlink.net it works. So you ask....why not just change it to @earthlink.net and be done with it? Good Question! It's because he wants people to see that his email address is @domainname and not the @earthlink address. What ever is in that field shows up as the sender.

    Westside-
I don't ever BCC: myself so I wouldn't care. This person has been doing it forever so it's harder I guess to go without it...It's hard for me to understand why it works on Outlook though. Netscape told me that they can't guarantee their mail program will work will all providers and they couldn't look into the issue. I think that comment basically sums up the Netscape mail program. I'm not sure if you are a hardcore Net user so I'll will hold back telling you my true feelings about Netscape. ;)

I am not even talking about the server settings. How about the account Settings, in the default identity area.
The first line has the name, the second one has the e-mail address, then there is a lower one, which can have anything real or fictional. I enter a fictional address at some newsgroups, because I don't want to be bothered.
It is necessary to have a real e-mail address, in the second line, and the top line can have anything or nothing. I have this set up at a newsgroup, where I have entered a fictional address , and the From: uses that address. But, the Server settings should be the correct ones.
I don't know if this would answer your question.
