running xpmedia center 2002 or xpp. and i have so many things on my desktop when it starts up its funny.

i've unchecked what i dont want in my system tray and apply and do all that stuff, restart and when it does it tells to basicly go back and undo it. it wants everything starting up! i guess i can exit the things i dont want ,that little box is about like the scandisk restarted 10 times box. dont like either one.

any one got any ideals as to how i can uncheck what i dont want in systray
without that box coming up and making me undo it.

I hope I get this right.

Go to the Link shown and get a program named StartupCop. It is GREAT for controling what loads or does not load at startup. I have been using it since WAY back in the Win95 days.

FWIW, StartCop is quite good but is no longer free. There are alternatives that do equally well that are free. I have tested http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml and find it to be excellent.

What box are you referring to?
Would this be the one where you are notified about using the System Configuration Utility at windows startup? Did you check the little box labeled something like 'don't show this again', and then click on OK?
