I want to be able to open a wav file with crescendo but the only option
    shown is for quicktime.

    Tools>Options>Downloads>Download Actions>View & Edit Actions

When i click the View & Edit Actions, find the WAV extension, and then
the browse option. It wont show anything under the plugins. How do i
get this changed to use the crescendo plugin?

    thanks,
    savagcl

    clif,

Crescendo doesn't play WAV files, only MID files.

When you are in the View and Edit Actions window, click on the "Change Action" then Highlight WAV MIME Type, and enable "Use this Plugin ". Then type QuickTime Plugin 6.5.1, if that is the version you have installed.

Just ensure that you DO select this setting in QuickTime 6.5.1:
    Edit | QuickTime Settings
From the drop down menu select: File Type Associations
Then click on the "File Types" tab
Expand the: Audio - Audio only file formats
Next: Enable the "Wav audio file "
    Click: OK
    Close the program

Now QuickTime will play your WAV files...

    Thanks, Ramona.

I did it a little different, use media player classic, but it works good.

So, for future reference, i just need to type in the name of the plugin as
its shown in about:plugins and (if the plugin is capable) it will work as
long as the file association is correct...

    appreciate the feedback,
    savagcl
