Recently, my computer has been extremely slow...I'm not sure what caused it, but now the internet is loading at least 10x slower than it was, the whole computer will randomly freeze for about 30 seconds, and games like the original Half Life have awkward pauses that shouldn't happen since my computer can definately handle the game fine.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I've alread ran all my spyware programs and they havent picked up anything...

Download the free trial of Ewido - when installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu ". Update it, run it and see if anything untoward turns up.

Post the scan log here if you like.

Run chkdsk & defrag on your drives. Empty your Temp folder(s).

    Hello lpdrummer,

If Ewido or your malware scans don't pick up anything, then there may be a conflict or an software addition causing this.

Go to IE's tools > Manage add ons. Those are BHO's added to the browser. Either shut them all down and then add them back in one by one, or shut down one by one. In either case, see if that narrows the problem down.

    Regards - Charles

Run a disk cleanup and defragment the HDD,, if its loaded with junk and cluttered, things can slowdown. Infact do it regularly.

Also see whts running in ur startup list, disable unwanted items. Adding more RAM might also help.
