I received a message today suposedly from "ebay." It said my account was temporally suspended.

The message contained a link, when I clicked it, I was taken to a page that looked like the log-in page at ebay. I looked at the address in the address pane (FireFox) and it listed, "http://www.patriciarbeats.com/.sex/."

For sure this address is not ebay. What is going on? I checked my email again and got another one just like it. The address listed in the message is ebay@ebay.com.

How do I find out what's going on with this message? Thank you,
    Chris.

UPDATE: I googled "patriciarbeats.com/.sex/" and it took me to the page that looked like the log-in page at ebay.

It's a phishing scam. Delete them and forget about them. Whatever you do, don't give them any personal info.

There have been a lot of those going around. Actual emails from eBay will have your name/user name at the top. Another way to know if they are real, just go to your "My eBay" page and check for messages there. I usually just delete anything from eBay that looks suspicious. People will do anything to trick others out of their account information. Another thing you can do is to put your cursor over the link in the email and it will show what address it's sending you to at the bottom of your screen. Never click on any links that you don't know who they are from.

As a precaution, I would run your AV and spyware programs. It wouldn't hurt to run a couple online scans also. Would hate to find out that something came through when you went to their site.

    Check this out...

http://www.firetrust.com/firetrustsitehound.html (It expalins all what it covers)

I use it and its the best thing i have seen/used for this exact thing...plus it covers other stuff as well. It is either free or paid for and currently can only be used fir IE. They are working on the Firefox version but you would need to contact to see what sort of time scale is set for the FF browser.
