Everytime I turn on the computer, I get an illegal operation from Explorer, sometimes one from MSBB, and after I am online for a few minutes everything starts to get really slow, so I hit control+alt+delete and msdos something or other says not responding. I'm so lost!! Anyone help?

I think you are referring to the windows Explorer and not Internet Explorer.
What do you have starting up on boot up?
First I would use System File Checker (sfc.exe) to replace Explorer.Exe. Then use System Configuration and uncheck programs one at a time under the autoexec.bat (it will have something like c:\progra~\ etc), and start tabs, and see when the errors go away. Leave both entries for powerprof, and the entries for systray, and scanreg, these are necessary. Under the Win.ini tab, click on the plus sign for windows, and see if the lines for load= and run= are blank, if not uncheck them.
    What is MSBB?
It will be a process of elimination to get to the culprit.
It would be a good idea to get a download a copy of Adaware (free) and run it.

    First, welcome to the board!

A couple of other things to do would be to empty out your windows\temp folder, you also might want to run scandisk and defrag.

    What OS are you running?

naughtyboy and ShootingStar, if I get this right, and I think I do. You both have adware/spyware on your computers.
The above from the MS link from naughtyboy.
This google search bares it out.
Go to the link below and get Spybot for removal.
