Outlook email with web links stopped working. When you click on the link it opens IE but does not paste the link into the browser address box. Hence you have to search the code to determine the web address that is behind the HTML code of the email. No settings were changed intentionally. Security setting were not changed and are set at mid points. All security updates have been applied. Any ideas what needs to be changed or corrected.

First and easiest thing to try is to click start>run and type regsvr32 urlmon.dll. Then try a link. Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express?

I ran regsvr32 urlmon.dll and this did not help. I am running Outlook not Outlook Express. Windows XP Home Edition.

Try resetting your web settings. First, close Outlook and then in IE, click tools>internet options>programs and click the reset web settings button. Be sure to uncheck the box that refers to resetting your home page if you don't want it changed. Then close IE, open Outlook and try a link.

Re-setting IE worked! Thank you... you can't believe how many people I asked in our IT department and no one had an answer. Thank you!

Good! Glad to hear it worked for you. It gets tougher after that.

Oh, I see you're new to the board. So, welcome to the board! :)
