I hope someone out there can help me with this. When I took a game disc out of the drive, the computer screen was curved on either side. This has happened in the past, but when I would reboot, the screen would go back to normal. This time it didn't, and it's been like this for 3 days now. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Has the resolution of your screen changed? Also check the refresh rate of the monitor. Some games would automatically adjust these settings for maximum speed and forget to revert back to old settings.

Thanks for helping me. The resolution is 1024 by 768 pixels and the refresh rate is set at 60 hertz. I know the resolution is ok but I don't know what the refresh rate was set at to begin with.

It would be most probably 70 or 72 Hz. You can change it & see the results.

Ahhh...and charming too! While I have you, I wonder if you might be able to help me with something else. When I try to format a floppy disc, an error message comes up saying that Windows is unable to complete the format. Any suggestions as to why this might be?

Are you getting this error message with all the disks that you try to format or with just one or two?

Yes, all of them. A friend of mine took some of them and was able to format them on her computer. She's got pretty much the same set up as me.

Try cleaning up your floppy drive (wonder if cleaning disks are still available) or swap it with another working one to confirm that its the drive that's giving the problems & not Windows.

I will look into finding a cleaning disk and try that first. Thank you again :)
