    Hi,
I've just uninstalled Norton System Works 2003 from my PC and downloaded AVG free instead. Although everything seems to be running just fine, I now get the following error message on every start up:-

    SiSUSBrg.exe
This application has failed to start because SiS_Lib.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

    I do not have a re-installation disk.

Do I need to worry about this?
    Cheers, Lorna.

lorna, it seems that NSW unistall messed up something.

From the file name, it appears that its some file required by SiS USB port. Check the drivers that came with your computer & reinstall USB driver.

    Hi lorna.

That file is associated with the motherboard. Your motherboard probably has an SIS chipset and SIS graphics built in to the motherboard. I would go to the manufacturer's site for the motherboard and download the drivers for that motherboard and reinstall them. A common problem. You'll also probably need a file called SIS_LIB.DLL. If you happen to have a cd around that came with the system for the motherboard it will do. You can install the drivers from that cd.
Installing just the file you're getting prompted for probably won't do. You need to reinstall all the drivers for the motherboard then reboot. That should do it.

Forgot to mention that rsinfo is absolutely right. That particular file is probably concerned with the USB ports. This problem seems to crop up a lot but doesn't create any lasting problems. It seems that the system misplaces the motherboard drivers somehow and they have to be reinstalled. Very strange. This particular file problem isn't the only problem. I would reload all the motherboard drivers.

    No harm in doing that.
