I went to use the media player 10 and I had a cd to copy in tray but the window didn't show those little boxes one checks to record. the library was totally different then what I had last time I opened it back in october 05. so I emailed microsoft and got the usual non answer answer. BLA BLA check with your original equipment manufactureer. Which is HP and they didn't install player 10 so no help there.I tryed to uninstall but can't find MP10 in the uninstall file. so I took a chance and downloaded MP10 again and the player icon is gone and I cannot find how to see MP10. Help how do I un install MP10?
Are those little white Boxes to check to record removed or do I have A big problem?
    What about an I con?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

well Brian, to uninstall you can go to your control panel and select the add or remove programs icon there and then find the media player in the list and click on the change/remove button. this will get rid of the current player application.

then simply visit the web and download a new player.

hmm, that is odd. you can't get rid of it from the start menu and it's not showing up in the add or remove window? I wouldn't know how to remove that.

    Hi Brian,

You say it is not in the add/remove listing but I have to ask what may be an annoying question - have you selected the "Add/remove Windows components" button on the left of the window?
Media Player is listed there usually.

A good question. I have never used that feature befor. I unchecked all the boxes that were checked and highlighted media player. I then clicked on the highlight media player it said looking for files. then said Finished. And msn was removed from my computer. Media player is still there. Tryed to remove it again and it is still there. I am ready to take a 20 pound sledge hammer to this gor forsacking machine. I want to remove media player from this computer so I can reinstall it. What gives?
