it opened as a thank you for installing windows media player 10 during set up okay you get the ideal. only trouble is i ve had it been using it since oct 05.

i went to my music and clicked on a song and here comes that set up thingie again so i set it up. and went to library and there all my songs were (big sigh of relief) if i had lost my music ......well i didnt (besides it should be backed up)

what i want to know is why? why should it decide that i needed to set it up especially since i've got over a k of music in the library.

i went to the player because i couldnt get media center to play dvd i clicked on play and nothing happen. so i closed it out and got the player.and got the shock. anyone got any ideas

Did you have previously have Windows Media Player 9? Media Player 10 is available by Windows Update. Could of downloaded automatically if you had 9.

collee74 no its always been a 10 and i had been loading music in it since oct of 05,and using it, so it was a great big shock when i clicked on it and that came up.

hasnt done again since but it makes you wonder. a glitch,or a little gremin? or it could be just one of life's little suprises. computers do things like that sometimes

thanks for anwering my post. :)

More than likely because of the repair you have just done. After a repair some items will start from square one again :)

    petec how you doing?
no this was way before i did the restore, and it probably was a good sign that something wasnt right with the system. thats hindsight. but you know something all of error reports i sent to microsoft i wish that they had a way to have told me( to hey whoa you better do something and fast because you got problems.) know what i mean? anyway thanks for the reply. ive made so many posts that im all over the site, sometimes i forget where they are. and i will making more because i still have to put my printer on,figure out where to put the remote, and also figure out how to get 5 computers(3 with nic cards and and two with just dial-up) anyway hope everything is okay with you and bye.
