Any chance of getting the links within the forum messages to open in a new tab rather than a new window?

Actually got used to IE7 now!

Right click and select Open in New Window should still work.

Open in New Tab is probably what we're looking for ;)

And no, I can't change anything as far as default goes, as it is the way the software is designed.

What browser are you using? If Firefox, there's an extension available where you can make it do this.
    Tabbrowser Preferences - Firefox Extension

Otherwise, if you have a mouse with a mouse wheel, click on the link with the wheel instead of one of the buttons (this also works in IE7). If no mouse wheel, press the ctrl key (I think thats the one) while clicking a link or right click on the link and choose open link in new tab. That's for Firefox but IE7 has the same. I've uninstalled it though and don't remember the exact wording for it.

I realise I can right click and do open in new tab - just querying whether it could be the default. About 75% of the sites I visit have that working as the default where it used to be opened in a new window. If that's the way the software works so be it.

In Tools>Internet Options>tabs Settings, check 'always open pop-ups in new tab' and click OK.
