I have an application that requires Sun Java Plug-in 1.3.1_15. Another program I installed requires a newer version of java and installed Java 1.5.0. Now my first application tries to start with java 1.5.0 but will not work. Is there a way to switch back to the earlier version of Java without having to unistall 1.5.0 each time I need to run 1.3.1_15 ?

    1.3.1_15 reinstall.

Thanks for the reply. Java 1.3.1_15 is listed and checked in internet explorer options advanced tab. It is also listed under objects under the internet options temporary files/ settings / objects. If I go to system tools/ system information/ and then open internet explorer/cache/list of objects 1.3.1_15 is listed as damaged. If I try to reinstall 1.3.1_15 it adds another object to the list also damaged. If I uninstall all java and then reinstall 1.3.1_15 alone it works fine untill another program calls for the newer java. Any Clues?

    Bob B--
Have you tried installing the latest version of Java after installing the old? (Perhaps do that after unchecking any version of Java on the Advanced tab and rebooting.)
If the Advanced tab then lists both versions of Java, I would assume you could switch back and forth. Unfortunately, it will require a reboot.
