I am having trouble opening up task manager using Ctrl. Alt. Delete. Is there a good reason for this? I have tried restarting my PC and pressing ctrl alt del but it just isnt happening! Any suggestions? Is there another way to open up task manager?
    Cheers

Yes: Ctrl+Shift+Esc or Start > Run & type taskmgr (hit OK)

Neither does that sound good to me!

You may well have a virus/malware infection. Read this post, then post a HJT log in the Removing Spyware & Viruses forum.

I am currently running the Panda scan and so far it's picked up 4990 viruses!!!! I scanned my PC with the most recently updated version of avast about half an hour before i posted on here! How can it miss so many?
The Ctrl Alt Delete works now, i'll finish the scan and put up a hijack this log too just to be sure though.

If I were you I would be posting a HJT log as suggested above. I would also consider a different anti-virus program.
