Windows O/S: ME: How do I delete a temp file in C:\RESTORE\temp? I have tried this in safe mode and Restore IS turned "off ". I realize this is a protected file but seems there should be a way to do this. I have tried "move on boot" but is still there..Any help would be appreciated...Den...........

D.Matura--I never had this problem myself, but I Googled your problem and came up with
    http://www.google.com/search?source...GGLD:2004-31,GGLD:en&q=Win+ME+C:\RESTORE\temp
As you can see many of the references deal with virus infection.
You may want to follow the procedure here
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=37074
although I hear that the experts in reading HiJackThis logs are very busy at present. Just going through the procedure may help.
Any reason why you want to delete this file? Any problems running your PC? Any error messages?

Boot the system from a Windows 98SE bootup floppy. Once you get to the A:\> prompt, type:
    deltree /y c:\restore\temp\
(and press [Enter]). That will delete everything within the c:\restore\temp folder but leave the c:\restore\temp folder itself.

If you also want to remove the c:\restore\temp folder, remove the trailing backslash from the above command, i.e.,:
    deltree /y c:\restore\temp
Note: If you don't have a Windows 98SE bootup floppy you can download a program that will create one for you from http://www.bootdisk.com
