Can you boot to safe mode? Maybe you can work on it from there?

You say the video goes off. Does it just stay black then or does it reboot?

Are you just in the process of installing windows or is windows already installed?

Download and look in the motherboard manual. If the motherboard has on-board graphics and a card is installed, you will need to disable the on-board graphics.

No luck, the install has not gone very far. Repartition the HDD using the HDD manufacturer's utilities, format and install again. If you try to keep going the problems may follow you.

If it is a new PC it is under warranty so get it fixed for free where he bought it. Dont hurt your head over it.
