Basically we had a need to change the name of 2 of our servers.
The 1 server which is our PDC is the server our client machines
are set to for "File Synchronization ". We are running Win2003 Standard Server. Needless to say my desktop clients are now trying to sync with both the old server which no longer exists and the new one.

I have found no place to tell the sync program first, what to sync and second where to sync it to. Every where on the internet I've been looking I keep getting Time Syncing tutorials which is obviously not a help.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thank-you in advance for any help, I'm am truely deeply grateful.

Ouch. I had this exact problem at my last job. Unfortunately at that time what I ended up having to do was reset the offline files cache for each desktop by hand. Not fun!

Perhaps you could try creating a host record in DNS for the old hostname pointing to the correct IP. May or may not work, but it is worth a shot.
