Sorry to take so long to reply, but I can only suggest some "maybe's ".

If not already, update DirectX to version 8.1.

If the new card was installed at the time you posted that information, the system was still running the old graphics "S3 Graphics ProSavage 8A26 (Microsoft Corporation) [Display adapter] ". You may need to disable the old graphics in the BIOS settings so that "everything" will run on the new graphics card.

Do a search of some of the previous posts in this forum regarding graphics drivers. You may need to completely remove the old graphics drivers before the new ones will work.

You will need to read the manual/user guide for the computer. It will tell you about upgrading the graphics. If there is no BIOS setting for disabling the on-board graphics, there will probably be a jumper on the motherboard to disable it.
Let us know if you need help by finding a manual to download or locating the jumper, etc.

Only possible problem with storing it in the shed is that it may have become wet and corroded, you would probably have noticed. Heat does not effect them, so as long as it was dry it should be fine.

The main problem will be disabling the on-board graphics, which you will have to do with any other card anyway.

Ah-ha!, something to check. Go to Control Panel -> Display -> Settings (tab), under the main box there will be a drop-down list. Click on the drop-down arrow and see if the 7000 card is listed. See what happens if you highlight it.

If you click the Advanced button and go to the adapter tab and click Change, see if the 7000 card is listed there under it's manufacturer (maybe ATI Radeon).

Anyway, tell us what is listed in the drop-down list.

Thanks for letting us know...pity about the card.

My 7500 64mb (4X AGP) works well. I suggest, if you can, to get a card the same brand as the motherboard manufacturer, less likelyhood of incompatiblities.
