    For those who like it, the Skypilot theme has been upgraded for FF 1.5.0.1 and
    Mozilla 1.7

    http://themes.mozdev.org/

    Seems to work well, havent noticed any difference in speed either.

    Just thought i'd pass it along.

    I have to take it back, about working ok.

    Its back to hanging after loading 98% of a page.

    Sorry,

    I had been using skypilot Classic with Moz1.7.12 with no problems( I uninstalled Moz,since). The same version works fine with Seamonkey1.0.
    I got from the skypilotf08t05.jar file or just the parent site
    Now, I have installed the Theme in both FF1.5.0.1 and Thunderbird1.5.
    If there is a problem with a page is it just one page, or all? I was using the Metal Lion Theme, and it had a problem with one folder in my Personal Toolbar. It has a lot of bookmarks, and it would not scroll to the bottom. Skypilot does it well.

    Interesting!

    Most pages i visit dont complete, but a page re-load will normally complete it.

    Even this windowsbbs message page hasnt finished loading yet. Same thing
    with the message preview page. I know its not the sites.
    The loading bar at lower right of FF and MOZ rarely finishes. The bar is just sitting there at 98% + or -. No biggie, i can still do what i need to within the
    page. Maybe i'm just pickie! :)
    I do get more completes using Moz vs FF.

    I notice it tho when a password/userid is needed and seems to be the last
    thing that gets loaded.

    thanks,
    savagcl

    It does not sound too good. I had that behavior with 1.5 when it was installed, to the point that I uninstalled it, and then after a clean install of 1.5.0.1, it was worse in some ways. Then I uninstalled 1.5.0.1, and reinstalled 1.5, and, after a few days I did the auto-update. I have had a few episodes of bringing up Talkback, with 1.5.0.1, but none with the skypilot theme. And, should anyone be interested, I maintained the same profile throughout.
    There are odd things going on. I had to create a new profile for my Seamonkey1.5a nightly, because it started loading, up to the splash screen, with no way to get rid of it, other than killing the application, or rebooting.

    Yep, definately something strange.
    I just went through a series of pages with both FF default theme and Skypilot
    theme. Everyone of the defaults were OK, everyone of the Skypilot was
    incomplete.

    I tried to post an e-mail comment to the skypilot page )via www.mozilla.org but
    it bounced back as "unknown ". No success getting a email posted anywhere to
    anyone yet. Except here of course.

    Just to make sure, are you using the same version as I got. I did not use your link, and the Skypilot Theme is definitely faster, for me,

    I'm using FF 1.5.0.1 and Mozilla 1.7.

    Speed isnt a problem, even Skypilot matches FF, just dont finish loading (so,
    i guess that makes FF faster since it loads completely). :)

    On the Skypilot page there is a forum for comments, i wanted to post there but
    no luck.

    Have you tried the discussion group ? Try that.
    I had used only the skypilot theme for Moz1.7.12, and never had problems of incomplete page loading. Actually, the firefox Fasterfox had one useful function telling you how long it took to load a page, and, it kept counting up if not done.
    I have used the Theme for 1.5.0.1 ( I use it here with Seamonkey1.0, also) with no problem. I know that the guy who develops the software is very good at responding.

    Westside,

    Correct me if i'm mis-reading the loading bar.
    With no loading going on, my bar is a blue color.
    When loading, the bar shows a different color (like a pale orange/yellow).

    When a page fully loads - shouldnt the bar return to the blue color (no activity)?

    I'm asking because my bar stays the orange/yellow color, giving the impression
    that the page is still loading (but the fasterfox has stopped counting).

    I got to the skypilot group on yahoo and will post there.

    Thanks,
    savagcl

    Got an answer from sailfish, via yahoo groups.

    A real fast reply.

    Here is the reply (and question) (slightly edited for ID's e-mail addresses):

    In past versions of Mozilla, after a page loaded the
    progressbar (golden advancing bar) value was reset to 0%. At some time since
    then, they decided to leave the value at 100% which has the effect of
    leaving the bar visible. I've made a change to the theme that now tests for
    it being 100% and, if so, to non-display the progressbar. It's available on
    the theme site now.

    Also, if you want the progressmeter to disappear completely (as with other
    themes) you can simply add the following override to your userChrome.css
    file. This override will be ignored by all themes except Sky Pilot Classic.

    /*
    * Remove progressmeter after page has loaded.
    */
    window[theme= "SPC"] #statusbar-progresspanel[collapsed= "true"] {
    visibility: collapse !important;
    }

    Lastly, if you want the same effect for Toy Factory, modify the above
    override as follows:

    /*
    * Remove progressmeter after page has loaded.
    */
    window[theme= "SPC"] #statusbar-progresspanel[collapsed= "true"],
    window[theme= "TOY"] #statusbar-progresspanel[collapsed= "true"] {
    visibility: collapse !important;
    }

    Just tried his fix and it works. The bar is reset upon complete loading of a page.

    No more confusion.

    Glad to hear. That guy is very attentive, and he is the first to provide Themes, which works. I am using the akypilot theme in FF and TB 1.5, Seamonkey1.0, toyfactory in NS7.2 and Seamonkey1.5a nightly, and his A theme in NS8.1 aluminum. I am also using the neat aluminum theme in TB1.0.7. Am I prejudiced in favor of Sailfish or what? (FF1.0.7 uses another Theme, which does not work properly).

    Yes, was really surprised at the quick response.

    I use skypilot exclusively for my browsers. Think i'll check out the aluminum.

    Thanks for the help,
    savagcl
