OK, so I've downloaded and started using Firefox 1.5. I'm still using NS 7.2 for my email. When I click on Tools>Read Mail in FF, I get the NS mail, which is OK. But when I click Tools>New Message, I get Outlook Express, which I never use. How do I change this to Netscape Mail?

Also, Is there anyway of putting an e-mail icon or link on the FF toolbar or tray?

Right click on the Navigation Toolbar and drag the email icon to the toolbar and drop it where you will. Your default email program will open.

The only way I know is to select View|Customize, and a box will open in the Menu (top toolbar), then drag and drop the Mail icon.
You have to make sure that NS7.2 is selected as default mail. The drawback of having a suite like NS7.2 as default, is that links will open in 7.2, and not in Firefox. But Outlook Express should not open, unless it is selected as default.

    Bmoore1129 and Westside, thanks.

My point is that as far as I know, NS 7.2 is my default email, not Outlook Express. The strange thing is that when I select "Read Mail ", I get NS, but when I select "New Message ", I get Outlook Express. How do I get rid of Outlook Express?

    xelaw,

In Netscape, the setting for using Netscape for the default Mail Client is here:
    Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups
"Use Netscape Mail as the default mail application "

If you're running Windows XP go to:
    Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
Select (on the left): Set Program Access and Defaults | Custom
Set Mozilla Thunderbird as your default email application

Next to Outlook Express, uncheck: "Enable access to this program "
Hopefully, OE will no longer come up when you select "New Message ".

    Thanks, Ramona

When I used Netscape Mail, it was listed as the default mail application in "Add/Remove Programs ". I also unchecked "Enable access to this program" next to Outlook Express, but this didn't help. "New Message" in Firefox still opened Outlook Express.

So this morning I downloaded and installed Thunderbird, and made it my default email. Now "Read Mail" and "New Message" both open Thunderbird, so the problem has gone away.

I don't know why, but your problem with NS7.2 vs Outlook Express has been reported by others. I had already gone to Thunderbird, when I started to use Firefox, and never ran into the problem.
