I downloaded and tried the new Netscape but I quickly uninstalled it because even though it's a vast improvement compared to previous versions it was utilizing over 50 percent of my CPU even when idle.

I think I'll stick with IE.

    Hi edq,

What is your system configuration? I can run Mozilla 1.0, Opera 6.03, and Netscape 7.0 simultaneously and still have 65% of my resources. Granted, Mozilla and Netscape 7 will hog resources if open for a long period of time, but 50% seems very drastic, unless you are low on RAM, HD space, etc., etc., etc.

My system is quite adequate; I'm not low on anything, 1.2 CPU, 512 Ram, when using IE and everything else my average is just 15 percent of CPU. The problem is Netscape, the only reason I decided to try it was because of the reviews I was hearing about it, that it was going to revive some competition to IE and so forth.

If they have any hope of competing with IE it's certainly not going to be this version.
