I really dislike Outlook Express. It always gives me grief when I'm doing anything with my systems. This time after dealing with many issues over the past few years I have a new problem. Pictures and graphics are not being displayed after I restored my settings from my old computer. The emails are text only and large text. I tried looking at the HTML settings but I couldn't find anything. My old computer has XP Pro and the new one came with XP Media Center. I didn't think there would be a problem. Well of course there was! It's Outlook Express! I'm probably just overlooking it somewhere.

    historyjensen--
You have not told us what those settings are.
And it is not clear whether what is happening is limited to Outlook Express. Is the problem only with OE? And not IE?
The usual problems with displaying images in OE are as follows:
    1) The person sending them to you is not sending them properly.
    2) Look at the settings in OE Tools|Options|Read tab. Is the setting "Read messages in plain text" checked?
    3) Look at the settings in OE Tools|Options|Security tab. Are the settings "Block images..." and "Do not allow attachments..." checked?
    4) Look at the settings in OE Tools|Options|Send tab|HTML settings. Is the setting "Send pictures with mail" checked? (I know this seems to deal with sending messages, but some people report it also affects receiving messages.)
If the answers to 2) and 3) are yes, consider unchecking them. In the case of 4), consider checking it.
And have you gone to the Windows Updates site to get the latest updates?

    Thank You

It was the the *read all messages in text only*. It was checked. I don't know how this happened, since it was not this way on my old computer. Thank you very much. I was looking for something bigger to be wrong as usual.

Each OS has its own little differences. Just like each PC has its own little differences.

If the text is to large and if you have a wheel mouse, press the ctrl key and roll the wheel while viewing an email. This will change the size of the text. It'll also change it in IE though so if you open IE and text isn't the same size as always, you can do the same thing in IE. It won't have any effect on some web pages though depending on how you have text related settings set in IE's options.

If you don't have a wheel mouse you can change the size of the text in OE by doing it in IE. In IE click view>text size. This does the same thing as using the wheel.
