Are you talking about the Inbox Folder when you try to delete them? Can you Move them to another folder?

Rustybum--When you delete emails in OE, they really are not deleted. They just disappear from the Deleted Items window. At some point the Deleted Items.dbx file gets so full it cannot accept any more deleted mail.

Try turning off your internet connection, then OE File|Folder|Compact All Folders. Turn your internet connection back on. Reboot.

If that does not help, you could try downloading and installing a more recent version of IE/OE.

Have you visited Windows Update recently?

If compacting the folder doesn't work, delete your deleted items.dbx file in windows explorer (close OE first). A new one will be created the next time you start OE.

To find the location of the file, in OE click tools>options>maintenance and click on the store folder button. You'll find the location of OE's files there.
