I don't know if I'm in the right forum but.......

I just connected to Broadband (using ethernet on Win98se) it seems to be running well.

One little prob I have encountered is that, about every second time I start or reboot, I get my wallpaper, the cursor (+hourglass) and a tiny little blinking window. Usually if I reboot it comes up ok.

On pressing Ctrl, Alt, Del - the dialogue box says I'm running "Runonce" and "Ntsysv" and that's it.

    Anyone got any ideas?
    TIA

    Den

Runonce.exe looks to be part of an installation system. (See this.)

It looks as though you've installed something and the installation hasn't completed propery. As this coincides with your move to broadband, I'd suggest that it could be your broadband modem drivers that are causing the problem. However, it could be something else.

Having google searched for NTSYSV, I think you may have trojan: see this

    Thanx ReggieB,

I was just about to post to say I'd found the prob when you nailed it.

For 6 years I've been on dial up without the sniff of a virus - 2 weeks on BB I get 2 Trojans & a very nasty malware.

Went to TrendMicro, did an online scan and that WAS the prob.

Once again, thanx for your response, it had a few others bewildered judging by the lack of response.....LOL But we ALL learn things from these experiences.
