I suggest you try a repair of Internet Explorer ....

Add/Remove Programs > MS IE > Remove and select the Repair option.

Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > scroll down to Microsoft Internet Explorer or maybe just Internet Explorer (I do not have access to a 98 computer right now) > highlight the entry and select the Change/Remove button.

A dialogue box will appear - select the Repair option > OK

Yes, there is sometimes a Repair Option - it depends on the facilities offered by the program installer software.

For Internet Explorer on Win 98 the repair option exists in Add/Remove Programs - in XP it does not and a Repair is a much more lengthy business!

Has the repair of IE solved your problem?
