Trying to change maps in my Mio 269 Sat/Nav. I keep getting message "Error. Make sure USB cable and AC mains are connected to Device ". They are. Device Manager shows a Driver Installed and Event Viewer shows "Event 7036, The IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service service entered the stopped state." It suggests visiting http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp and when you do it says Sorry, no further information available. Help!!!!

shot in the dark. delete the device from the USB chain and reboot. win should reinstall any drivers.

i'd also check u'r updates - custom mode as the CDR thing doesn't seem to be related but there ARE non-critical updates to himat CDR. get em.

I don't think so. You can go to the "control panel" and then click the "administrator tools" and then click the "service" , and then restart the burning service, the problem will be solve.

:) Further to this Sat/Nav problem, I have since been contacted by Mio who suggested "when I connect the device disable both firewall and antivirus because they can lock the communication device-pc ". This was the perfect solution, it worked immediately!!!!!!!! :)

You may have a perfect solution but anything which requires me to disable both firewall and antivirus is downright dumb.

Sat/Nav problem and disabling antivirus and firewall

I follow your thoughts but the disabling is only during installing from PC to Sat/Nav. It does not therefore require Internet connection and I have a Speedtouch connection to Internet which is like a DialUp. Therefore no harm done. Thanks anyway. Graham
