    Hi

I'm working on a Sony Vaio using XPHome that is experiencing very eratic dial-up faults. They may be related, perhaps someone can suggest fixes.

1/ the connection setting regulalry resets to "Never dial a connection "
2/ the auto-disconnect popup doesn't always appear, even though the tick box has never been ticked.
3/ If one dialup connection fails, try next connection doesn't work.

As I say perhaps they are all related?

    Thanks in advance

1st thing i'd do is check for modem updates from the maker

if the state of the connection is set to lan, the never dial part doesn't matter as long as u establish a dialup connection first. eg - it'll work fine as long as u'r modem is online.

i don't know point 2 - maybe u can details here? i'd opt to not use such tho. eg - just disconnect manually.

how many connections do u have? or are u referring to the redial on failed attempt that most dialups will do. if so, i'd check w/ u'r ISP as to recommended init strings for that particular modem. many require some tweaks to work consistently.
