I am having problems when I load up windows. I get to the "login" screen (sorry if im not using technical terms, I have no clue what im doing) and no matter which username I log into nothing happens. All I get is the wallpaper, no startbar, no icons, no anything. I can get to programs by [ctrl][alt][dlt] and then selecting run new task, however that makes things extremely slow and eventually stops working at all. This is our business' main computer and we can't do anything, and we need to fix the problem asap. I would really appreciate any help we could get. Thanks in advance, and I hope I described my problem accuratly. :D

    Have a nice day :p

Reboot the computer and tap F8. A black screen with a menu you can navigate by using your up/down arrows should appear. Choose System Restore and go back to a known working time. Post back if that doesn't help-there are more options available, but let's start simple.

I have to say you are my hero! I am soooo happy someone is going to help :p

Anyways, I tried what you said with the menu, and I couldn't find "system restore" all that was available on the menu was:

    Safe Mode
    Safe Mode with networking
    Safe Mode with Command Prompt

    Enable Boot Logging
    Enable VGA Mode
    Last known good configuration
    Directory services restore Mode
    Debugging mode
Disable automatic restart on system failure

    Start windows normally
    Reboot
    Return to os choice menu

You could try the last known good configuration. Or, you could try running system restore by opening task manager, and in the run box type "restore" (without the quotes). An explorer window should open and in it you'll see a file named rstrui.exe. Double click on it and system restore should open.
