I am maintaining some family computers remotely by VNC and they are old and slow (PII and PIII vintage) and I would like to install a harddrive activity light in the tray of the remote computers so I can know when they have executed my last instruction before I proceed with my next command.
I remember years ago there were programs that would do that back in the Win98 days but I can only find software for NT/2000/XP these days.
Everything I am working on is running Win98 and most have broadband access but it is easy to freeze them up by doing too many things at once.
Are there any oldtimers that might have what I am looking for or know where to find it?I have Googled myself silly and checked my old software/shareware CDs to no avail. Thanks for your time. Ron G

Thanks for reinforcing my feeble mind but I am pretty sure there was more than one program out there in the past but I have exhausted all my resources which is why I posted here,it appears to be futile at this time.
There were some programs to show your modem lights on the screen for those of us with internal modems back in the dialup days but I guess the harddrive light is gone for good,at least for the Win9x boxes.I did find the XP ones too and tried them "just in case ":)) but no joy. Thanks again.
