    Hi Jim,

You can contact the developer - I'm curious what the problem is.
    I meant contacting SIW's developer.

    Regards - Charles

Thanks. I had the Motherboard specs in front of me when I was reviewing the SIW printouts, and that's when the Flags were raised.
I tried both Everest and SIW in my other Machine (Win98SE) but a similar Motherboard (w/Intel 645 Chip) and both report 5 Pci Slots.

My curiosity is way up there now. Will try to contact the author.

Hidden tape recording of technician who bundled & boxed the motherboard:

tech: crashX$!!@!...oops...what are these black things? Looks like they go there...grabs thermoplastic glue gun...aaw..nobody will ever have a card in all 5 slots at the same time, and if they find a card doesn't work in one slot they'll try another one...anyway, it's not my problem...next order?

    TonyT,
Gabriel Topala Had me make a run with no DMI....here's the instructions:
The results were the same......Wrong number of PCI slots.

Soo....Hey Maybe you're right, (except for the crash):
    :D :D
Moving right along.....it seems maybe this "Cheapie" MB I have, (with it's BIOS which is post 2004), has some deficiencies as stated in the link here that Gabriel Topala references:
    http://www.pcpitstop.com/faq/smbios.asp#badinfo
So this "Bad Info" has no impact on functionality or performance. SMBIOS data is intended for use by inventory and diagnostic programs.
